Shane

My name is Shane, and I have just completed a Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood education.

I love working with young people, and l'd love to create a safe and supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves.

I believe children's learning is optimally facilitated through play-based experiences, which accomodate the expression of unique personalities, stimulate curiosity and creativity, allow for relationship formation and conceptual exploration and contribute to a positive sense of well-being.

I am Located in Woolston and currently offer childcare spaces for children aged 2-5 years. Monday to Friday, 7:30am- 5:30pm, including after school and school holiday care

Dee

My approach to education is to promote imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and independence through a disciplined mind, a simplistic environment, everyday, natural resources and intentional role modelling.

Our mindset can be our greatest asset. I am aware of my influence on young minds therefore I practise daily commitments to my own personal growth and development. My philosophy is all about my role modelling being intentional so children build foundations around being their best selves.

I follow thought leaders, role models and life coaches such as Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi and Nicki Lothian.

I provide natural resources that open up unlimited possibilities to each child’s imagination, giving them the freedom to explore and create whatever their hearts desire. These include loose parts, nature, blocks, heuristic play, arts, crafts, clay, music, books, dress ups and more.

I have several years experience in early childhood. Over these years, I’ve gained my level 4 certificate in Early Childhood, completed a number of courses such as Growing in Connections, Play Centre level 1 and UPW. I’m raising my 2 children who are now 14 and 8, home schooled for 2 years and currently studying Te reo Māori at Te Pūkenga.

I am returning to home based education after taking a couple of years off to fast-track my own growth and development.

I have limited spaces available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please comment below if you would like to join our turangawaewae whānau.

Alesi

Kia ora! My name is Alesi, and I bring five years of experience as a school teacher in Fiji, along with a deep passion for nurturing young minds.

Beyond the classroom, I have cared for my younger siblings and other toddlers, and I am also a proud mother to a nearly four-year-old daughter and a three-month-old son.

I believe that children learn best through play, hands-on experiences, and meaningful interactions with their environment. As an educator, I am committed to actively listening to children, creating opportunities for collaborative play, and fostering positive social interactions through encouragement and praise.

If you're looking for a caring and experienced educator who understands the importance of play-based learning and child development, I would love to connect with you!
