Hapori Playgroup For All Our Childcare Children
Hapori, meaning "coming together in kinship," is a vibrant playgroup that fosters community and connection. Held weekly, Hapori is a special gathering where children and educators come together to socialise, learn, and grow in a supportive, play-based environment. This mixed-age playgroup encourages children to explore and develop at their own pace, with opportunities for socialization, exploration, and building relationships with their peers and educators.
Our playgroup is a fantastic chance for children to interact with a larger group, develop social skills, and engage in a curriculum led by their interests and biological instincts. Through inquiry-based learning, children are encouraged to question, inquire, and develop working theories about the world around them.
We welcome parents and whānau to join in the fun, creating a family-oriented environment where everyone is involved. The weekly gathering also provides educators with the opportunity to network with others, enhancing the quality of learning and care for all tamariki.
An important aspect of Hapori is our focus on nature play and Kaitiakitanga (guardianship), which strengthens the bonds within the community and our commitment to fostering an environmental awareness in tamariki. Nature play not only supports children’s physical and emotional development but also helps build a strong connection between the educator’s home, the children’s homes, and the wider community.
At Hapori, we are constantly guided by the children, always working to support their development of a strong sense of self, their place in the world, and their relationships with people, places, things, and time.
